Acer announced the next set of Chromebooks for 2018 at next@Acer press conference. The complete set has four new variants. Two variant comes with 13-inch displays and the other two comes with 15-inch displays. As among these four line it has feature of convertible models for 15-inch and 13-inch.
As of the design, the 15-inch laptop has somewhat a classic style for the users as it seems to be a old design. The 15-inch has two variants as Chromebook 15 and Chromebook Spin 15. As comparing the details the internal hardware is same. It has Intel Celeron N3450, Celeron N3350, or Pentium N4200 CPU processor as per the choice of the user. It loads Intel HD Graphics 500 and RAM of upto 8GB.
As comparing with the two the Chromebook Spin 15 is convertible and that makes the major difference among them. The display size seems to be same as 15.6-inch 1920×1080 IPS display. Another slight difference between the two is that the battery life has an hour extra for Chromebook 15.
The Chromebook 13 and Chromebook Spin 13 seems to be more powerful in performance and yet portable compared with the other models. This model is for people who choose better performance option. This two device also has some similarites among them but some more enhanced performance on Chromebook Spin 13. The processor powered with Intel Core i5-8250U in the Spin 13 and the standard Chromebook 13 comes with Core i3-8130U. Both have RAM capacity of upto 16GB and 10 hours of battery life.
The major standout point on these devices is that, it has 3:2 aspect ratio not as 16:9 as available on other devices. Acer says that this will help the users to reduce amount of scrolling while working on Spreadsheets and documents. These devices have USB 3.1 Type-C ports for charging and data transfer at once.
The pricing and availability of these devices is not revealed yet. These details can be confirmed as when the devices are launced.
